A psychological thriller, characters you love to hate.

This is a new to me Author,at the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to enjoy this book, but I found that I did enjoy it. I did learn a lot about another culture, and what could be possibly happening on plantation. The friendship between Jessie and Marcelle is confusing but has tendrils of a true friendship, and underlying hate. There are many twists and turns with a surprising ending that I didn't see coming. Thank you#StMartins Press and #KarinTanabe for this ARC and for my honest opinion. I Recommend this novel and give it a 4/5.
