Don DeCarlo does it again

A girl's body is found floating in a river in Chicago; the newly appointed Cardinal of Chicago pulls out a gun and shoots the Mayor of Chicago at point-blank range. What do these seemingly unrelated incidents have in common? Do they have a link to one another? And do they relate in some way to the latest controversy in Chicago, the airport situation currently before the City Council? And what did the untimely demise of the previous Cardinal of Chicago have to do with all this, if anything? These are the questions Don DeCarlo, ex-FBI agent turned PI, is faced with in A HEAP OF BROKEN IMAGES. When DeCarlo is called in by the parents of the girl found floating in the river to investigate the apparent suicide, he finds himself also drawn into the case surrounding the murder of the Mayor when his friend, attorney Kate Di Falco, is commissioned by the Catholic Church to defend him. The skillfully woven plot that unfolds will keep you guessing and on the edge of your seat to the very last page! I highly recommend this novel for anyone who enjoys a good thriller!

A Great Read

As a Chicagoan I especially enjoyed this book. It's chilling and authentic. The last reviewer is some ass who's obviously out to get the author. I have recommended this book to countless friends who loved it.

Brejla Strikes Paydirt Again

This is an incredibly good book. Brejla introduces us to characters we learn to care about very quickly even though they are flawed as human beings, but then again, aren't we all. The outcome of the book is outstanding. Although you're led to believe you know what's going on, that's never the case. I understand he's got a new book coming out this summer. I can hardly wait!

Another Home Run By Brejla

Terry Brejla is a very clever writer. He takes you by the hand, leads you thru some very strange stuff, and just when you feel you've got it figured out, he throws you a curve, a BIG curve. He is already one of my favorite authors. I can't wait for his next book.
