Subtle Conflict Throughout

I disagree with Mark from San Francisco. I think Mr. Edwinson is a man of insight with an artful sense of humor. This is evidenced at the very beginning of his novel when he issues a "WARNING." In that warning, he informs his readers that: "This is a work of fiction, a fable. Some readers may take it seriously, which means I have successfully woven an interesting tale. Others will see it for what it is, a light and interesting allegory written with undeniable irreverence. It is blatantly "politically incorrect" and may contain material hazardous to some people's health in that it could cause a significant rise in their blood pressure. Reader discretion is advised..." Evidently, Mark from San Francisco missed the subtle humor embedded in that warning.Yes, by some poeple's standards the novel is somewhat simplistic, but it held my interest very well. Do we always have to have nerve gripping tension filled scenes for a book to be an interesting entertaining read? I think not. What I enjoyed aboaut this book was its LACK of graphic and violent tension filled scenes (there was only one that came even close to this), but still the suspense and conflict--though subtle--that readers expect from a good novel was there through the whole story. I just kept turning the pages. One other point I would like to make is, although this book is fiction, it does bring to mind the possible vulnerability to cyber sabotage the world faces and some of the effects this sabotage could have on society. If you're looking for a quick entertaining read, and are not too prone to letting fiction affect your blood pressure, then I definitely recommend adding this book to your personal library.

Idiologically provocative, yet easy, quick read

Rarely do I read novels. But this one is compelling from an idiological perspective. A story for the sake of a story is not sufficiently compelling for me to invest the time to read, but a story that challenges your belief system, stimulating introspective assessment of your political values, is. This book does just that. I hope Edwinson will write more. This was a very compelling read.

very fun imaginative what if

I really enjoyed this easy to read book. A mix of science fiction, fantasy, political views, and apocolyptic possibility. At first the book may have yourself saying this is impossible. But on further thought you ask yourself 'just how fragile is our system' that you will have to answer for your self.I would and have recommended this book to my friends.

Fascinating Premise--Interesting Story

I found this novel to be a fascinating read. Though fiction, one wonders just how implausible--or plausible, for that matter--the premise of this story might be. Mr. Edwinson uses some futuristic (maybe not so futuristic) concepts involving Internet sabotage and espionage that some readers might find unbelievable. However, I found these devices intriguing, and not entirely outside the realm of possibility a few years down the road.I wonder how many of Ian Fleming's "James Bond" devices, thoughsomewhat "far out" at the time he wrote his stories, are todayreality. Some readers may see this story as being a bit didactic in itspolitical point of view; others will see it as a subtle wake-up call for America, with its irreverent subplots geared toward the news media as well as certain government agencies and their excessive regulation; and which are weaved into an interestingtale. The novel has one bigger than life character, but after all, this is fiction we are talking about. Fiction is full of bigger than life characters. This book is a fast read. One that can be read on a three or four hour airline flight. When I first picked it up and started reading, an hour and half passed before I realized it.Mr. Edwinson may never be in a class with Tom Clancy or Ayn Rand, but I still give this one four stars.

Exciting New Book!

A Halcyon Revolution was so exciting to read that I couldn't put it down! From the first page to the last, it was a focused story which held my attention like few other books have. Will Edwinson has a winner here. It is relevant to our day and, especially in light of 9-11, it is simply a "must read" book. While it is fiction, the reader may well wonder if Edwinson has witnessed a special glimpse of what nearly happened--or, for that matter, what still could happen! You've GOT to read this one. It will shock you, sober you, and will enable you to be better prepared for each tomorrow.I won't say more because I want you to have the delicious joy of reading a truly worthy and exciting book. Plan on three or four hours of delightful alone time with it and you'll just not quite ever be the same! Happy reading!
