On December 9th, millions will enter the world of Narnia for the first time. Narnia is a world full of intrigue and wonder, created in the mind of the great Christian author, C.S. Lewis. Beneath the... This description may be from another edition of this product.
This "Guide To Narnia" was written and published by Catholic Exchange, the company responsible for the similar book known as "A Guide To The Passion." While "Passion" seemed to delve a little deeper into the pages of the Bible and the Catechism, "Narnia" explains things on the lightest level. Don't get me wrong, I think that this is a wonderful move on the part of the authors, since the bulk of the film's audience is children. Remember, though Lewis wrote these wonderful books for all, they really are geared toward youngsters. That doesn't mean that adults should skip reading them, it just means that this guide doesn't tackle issues as heavily as it did the the guide for the Passion. With that stated, I'll agree with another reviewer that this book is excellent for teens. I'll go one step farther and say that this book is excellent for younger children as well, as long as it's explained in a classroom format with an adult present to tackle things like the Eucharist and the breath of the Holy Spirit. Highly recommended, just don't expect it to be as hard-hitting as the "Passion" guide.
