I am very happy to have this book in my garden and plant material library. That said, I am left wanting more. A Garden of Conifers by Robert Obrizok offers good basic descriptions of and cultural requirements for a dozen or so species of conifers. It is an excellent introduction for the novice. For the more seasoned plantsperson, its greatest value lies in the 63 page checklist with black silhouette images of a fairly comprehensive group of the cultivars, varieties and forms of his selected list, indicating the plant's general shape. Each has a brief discription. If only he had included a picture for each (admittedly an enormous if not impossible task)and a bit more descriptive information ... The anticipated size of the each plant listed in 5, 10 and 20 years would have been very useful. Still, I'm glad to have it.
