A Fly Went By I’m older now and I have wonderful memories of my Dr. Seuss Books. Among them are Th

I liked each of the Dr. Seuss Books because the books are engaging to small children and sets up a child who will be excited to learn how to read! The more books that you read and teach your children to learn, the more that they will read.

Book STINKs like terrible mold. I am throwing it away! FeelRipped off!!!

STINKS like Mold!

Love the book!

I do love this book and so do my kids (5 and 11). I did not realize that it was a 1950's book when I started to read it. This went mostly unnoticed until toward the end where one character is concerned because someone has a gun (but they do not get shot-they just run by with a gun) (reminded me of Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fud) then another character is concerned that they are going to get "whipped" (yes, they use the word "whip") (but they do not get whipped). I did not like the word "whip" so I changed it (to tickled) when I read it out loud to my kids. Otherwise, we LOVE this book and have read it many times at bedtime. Even my 11 year old enjoyed hearing it (and he probably realized I substituted the word). I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the 1950's language that I mentioned above.

My favorite

This is my favorite children's book, and I recommend it to anyone, young or old, for the terrific story, memorable rhymes and important lesson. I disagree with the person who reviewer who suggested this story is violent. It's true the characters are fearful some harm will come to them, but we learn it's because they're missing some key information that isn't revealed until the end (when all is well). This book is about not leaping to conclusions, and not fearing what you don't understand.

Great for First-time readers

This book offers those new readers the chance to read by themselves. This was the first book I read alone and without assistance. I later passed this along to my children. I most strongly recommend this book for parents and grandparents of pre-schoolers.

One of the Best Children's books available

The child in this story plays a miniature Sherlock Holmes is discovering the zany misunderstanding which affects all of these familiar animals. Superb book you're children will love!

Wonderfully entertaining and clever!

This is one of the best written and illustrated books for its age group. This is the first book I remember reading from my childhood and was one of the first books I purchased for my own children.
