A Distant Tomorrow by Bertrice Small released on Apr 25, 2006 is available now for purchase. This description may be from another edition of this product.
I just finished this book. I enjoyed it so much. After reading part one I suspected that Varten wouldn't be in Lara's life for very long. I really liked him, so I was disappointed when I read the beginning of this book. I didn't like Magnus at first but by the end of the book he became one of my favorite characters. His jealousy was amusing. I have part three. I can't wait to see what happens next. Great book!

Bertrice Small is my favorite author. I love all her books. This one captures the imagination. What it would be like to live in several different worlds. Similar but yet each is so different. I love the magic of it all. I can't wait to read more of Hetar. The adventure, and the finding of ones self, different loves, rejection, fear, transporting, flying so many things that would be wonderful to experiance. I especially love the fairy aspect of it.
Nice mix of old and new mythology

The World of Hertar actually started with Mrs. Small's The Lord Dragon's Daughters. She hints at the fairy world and what the fairies look like. In book one we get a lot of back story with steammmmyyyy love scenes. A Distant Tomorrow has more story and mystery to old readers till the third book, Lara husband has died and she is once again called. She leaves to join the coastal king and they become fast friends and his son is corrupted by the mercent lord and enslaves Lara to the land beyond the water. She and the ruler fall in love and they save her dead husband people by transporting them to a new land and a new enimy is found in the land beyond, but I believe that that will come up in book three.
I loved this book!

After reading some of the other less than happy reviews of this book I felt compelled to put in my two cents worth. I have been a fan of Mrs. Small's books since her first book came out. This book does not disappoint. I love her new venture into the world of magic and science fiction and can't wait for the next book to come out. As with most of her other books, I have read the two in this series twice and found new things that I had missed in the first reading. I will be the first in line to buy the next in this series when it comes out!
Great Book!!!

Lara has become stronger (magical) and wiser. She know her destiny and keeps moving forward. She tells her story to her son, now that he's gotten older and to Mangus. Unlike the last book Lara's story isn't repeated as much (maybe 2 times), but the she lets everyone know she's got a destiny to fulfill. I love this series. It's a nice mixture of fantasy and romance. I can't wait for the next book and I hope this series keeps going on in more books.
