They were born in the 1950s in China and both received a Western classical music education from the age of three and were exposed to Western literature in their youth. As a result, the brother aspired to become a professional violin teacher and the sister dreamed of becoming a writer. Their love for Western arts enabled them to suffer through China's political upheaval in the 1960s. Later they both immigrated to the US with no knowledge of the English language and very limited financial resources. With their great fortitude and enormous hard work, they conquered all the adversities in their lives and have miraculously brought their dreams to fruition.
