A tell of the beginning of Canada

I greatly enjoyed this book. I learned so many things about the formation of Canada a it’s own Nation. It is through the eyes of a house maid who is put into the household when her sister decides suddenly to get married. She suffers through heartbreak of having to leave her family so suddenly. Once she gets use to her new role in life and makes friends the heartbreak is still there but she is able to also able to see the birth of Canada.
