Very recommended

This is a partial biography of Bennett with equal balance given to the musicals his genius shaped -DREAMGIRLS,FOLLIES,BALLROOM and his final unproduced SCANDAL. Many showbiz names grant author Ken Mandelbaum honest and often un-endearing perspectives of Bennett and this form of interjected comment litter every chapter. The final pages house a dedicated list of all things Micheal available on video (though out-of-date by now, as this book was published in 1989.) Anyone remotely interested in theatre would find this book a marvel. One singular sensation : the Michael Bennett story / by Kevin Kelly
