Book Overview

"A Child's History of the World" is a classic narrative journey through the ages, designed to introduce young readers to the grand sweep of human events. Written by V. M. Hillyer, this work presents history not as a series of dry dates and facts, but as a continuous and engaging story. Starting with the dawn of time and progressing through the rise and fall of ancient civilizations, the Middle Ages, and the dawn of the modern era, the book provides a comprehensive chronological framework.

Through its accessible prose and focus on significant individuals and turning points, the work aims to spark a lifelong interest in history. Readers will encounter the wonders of Ancient Egypt, the philosophies of Greece, the might of Rome, and the innovations of the Renaissance. By contextualizing major global developments, Hillyer offers children a sense of their place in the world and an understanding of the common threads that connect different cultures and epochs. This timeless educational resource remains a valued tool for its ability to make the past come alive for the next generation.

Very creepy pictures of a children’s history book

Love the content but do not like this version I got with a creepy alien grumpy man on the cover and throughout. I wish I have gotten the version I saw in The picture, I’m very bummed.
