I thought I was buying the edition with the beautiful Tasha Tudor illustrations as pictured on the description. I got a hardcover book with no illustrations at all. Dissatisfied.

Upside down
Published by Michelle , 3 years ago
I've been wanting this book for a while and decided to order from this site. I never mind little nicks and things on my books but this book I got is completely upside down from the cover which is really annoying every time I open it. If whoever it is that sends out the books can at least check them before sending them out, it'd be really appreciated
Lovely (somewhat abridged) collection.

I grew up with Stevenson’s poetry as the backdrop of my childhood, and wanted the same for my grandchildren. Unfortunately, the description did not say that the editions I ordered are pop-up books. I don’t want pop-up books and I want to return these.
Delightful edition

The illustrations are bright and engaging, complementing the poems nicely. My 4 yo and 2 yo love this book!
Poetry and Art that kids enjoy

The lyrical rhymes and magic of everyday kid's lives is captivating for even young children. I grew up listening to these poems and my kids have enjoyed them, too. I am particularly fond of the illustrations by Eloise Wilkin. She captures the realism of both landscape and children's faces. This is a timeless classic.

This book is pure magic. The Provensons' beautiful artwork has been etched onto my brain from early childhood. Stevenson's beautiful verses coupled with the delightful illustrations make this book truly magical. You will love this book!!!!
I read this 30 years ago

Thirty years ago, I was taught to read with this. Different pictures, same poems. I learned to imagine and believe in ordinary, yet beautiful things. Even today, in my own writing, I smile realizing how and when I learned a technique ... just by listening to my mother whisper these poems nightly. Aptly named, RLS has the reader remembering the wonderful days of playing alone and with friends, of delighting in the moment. Your child will gain an understanding of classic children's poetry, of the rhythm and rhyme. They sound eloquent aloud, and read gentle at bedtime. Anthony Trendl editor, HungarianBookstore.com
