A very enjoyable read. Jacobs displays an uncanny ability to get inside the minds and cultures of his characters. Some stories plumb the disillusionment of idealistic '60s "gringos" or Central American guerrilleros when the revolutions they supported have turned sour. Others are more personal and apolitical.
