I haven't been able to read this book yet, but since I am a retired R.N. who worked for 33 years I am sure I will be able to relate to most of the articles. C. I AM NOT A NEW GRADUATE!

Begins an important discussion

This book begins an important conversation about the rising cost of health care and the preparation of nurses who will be caring for the baby boomers for years to come. The stories and poems in this book are realistic and moving, and offer an insight into the challenges of a profession that all too often is taken for granted by those receiving care. If these stories and poems are "depressing," according to one reviewer, then perhaps that reviewer has missed the point. The larger picture is one of commitment and helping patients face illness and death, something all of us will face at some point. With dedicated nurses, as this book shows, there is always hope of recovery.
