Simply a Classic

I will not try to dazzle anyone with radiant descriptions of this work; I will instead state my humble opinion as a well-read member of society. This is a marvelous story that can be enjoyed by adults as well as children. It is, simply, one of the Forgotten Works. It marvelously portrays a fantastical animal society and its interaction with humankind. It is a beautiful tale akin to Watership Down. Do not pass this one up!

The descriptions are good . . .

This book is ok. I bought it used, for £1, when I was living in England. The descriptions of Dartmoor are very realistic and true, but the story is weak. I saw the end before I was thirty pages into the book. The human characters are also weak. All in all, Black Fox Running is a pretty good book, but lacks an original plot.
