Tells only one side of the story from one side of marriage

Literally threw this book in the trash after reading, because no one should ever read it. It created conflict in our marriage, reinforced unhealthy, insecure thoughts, and after talking it over with my husband, realized that this only tells part of the story from one side of marriage

Insightful: mainly about men but a little about women.

Some reviewers seem to think that the author presents a view that a woman must be totally about pleasing her husband. I actually thought he presented a balanced view, that marriage is a partnership where each spouse should be serving and loving the other. It's important to note that the book is mainly about getting to know men (hence, the title). There are other books that focus on how to understand women. He presents more material about how a woman can please her husband than the other way around because that's what the book is about. I also find that negative reviewers focus way too much on 1 statement and get upset about it. In any book about relationships an author will make generalizations. Most men are this way, most women are this way, etc. The intent of the book is not to say that all men are the same. However, all exceptions to the "norm" can't be addressed. With this book (and every book), take the nuggets that you can relate to, think through how they apply to your life and ignore the things that don't seem to apply to you.

Things you HAVE to know

This was a terrific book. Not having a brother or father around, reading this book truly helped me in my relationships with ALL of the men in my life, not just romantic interests. A must buy for all women who want to have a happier marriage!

Every woman, married or single, must read this book!

I'm not a big book reviewer or anything, but when I was online and read some of the reviews on 7 Things He'll Never Tell You, I was so flabbergasted that I just had to write a review myself. Some of the reviewers called this book old-fashioned and said that Dr. Leman's methods require the woman to sacrifice herself, become a doormat, and bear the brunt of the weight of the relationship in order to keep a man on the string. They couldn't be MORE WRONG. Who wouldn't want a guy who adores you, listens to you, respects you, is a great dad, and willingly helps you around the house? I'm married, a mom, as well as a career woman, and have read several other Dr. Leman books, like Sheet Music, First-Time Mom, and The Birth Order book, and have found each one absolutely fascinating and intensely helpful because it always provided "a fresh take" that I hadn't seen anywhere else. 7 Things He'll Never Tell you is witty, practical, and helped me instantly get inside my husband's head and heart...to find out what's most important to him. It takes so little to make your guy happy, so why not do it? I'd rather have my husband for a lifetime than suffer the fate of so many of my girlfriends, who are going through divorces and one-night stands now because of the years they wanted life to be "all about them" instead of being willing to do little things for your guy that have a really big pay-off--a great marriage! Five, ten, twenty years down the road, I don't have to guess who'll be happier--my girlfriends or me. I already know, because I've seen the wonderful changes, in just three weeks, in my husband's and my relationship after reading this book. Every woman, married or single, should read 7 Things He'll Never Tell You. You'd be dumb not to.

Will change your relationship!!! The BEST!

What a great book! I was one of those women who thought I knew it all! I did know most of the things that Dr. Leman talked about in the book but there were several things that really hit home to me that I had never thought about. Since I have been putting into practice the simple principles of this book, my husband has done a 180. I can't believe it! What a difference! I've told all my girlfriends to get this book and just this week I bought 3 copies and sent it to my college roommates. This book and Sheet Music are the two best books Dr. Leman even penned.

Great Read!

I really appreciated this book. I have been married for 8 years and we have 2 little kids who take up all my time and attention. I read this book to try to get some of the focus on my husband and not ignore his needs. He is very supportive of me being home and focusing so much on the kids, but I realized I needed to focus on him too. This book said what my husband doesn't come out and tell me what he needs or wants, but I know are truly important to him and our marriage! I highly recommend it.
