Cute and funny. The book contains so many situations that women understand instinctively. Very witty and enjoyable.

Wonderful Book, Wonderful Review

Title: 511 Things Only Women Understand Publisher: Barns and Noble Inc. Year of Publication: 2003 Genre: Female Humor In this book the author is just telling people the things that men just don't understand. For example, # 372 says, "That a lot of men are convinced that women are bad at math and science, silly about money, too emotional, scaredy-cats, and not tough enough. This from folks who can't figure out how the copier works, don't know how to comparison-shop, get hysterical over the Cubs, are terrified by the IRS, and cave in to whatever their mothers want. Nice try, guys." This is one of my favorite sayings from this book. Another one that I found really amusing was this one, # 433, which says, "That cheating is cheating whether it's a one-hour lunch date or the whole enchilada." These are just a few of them please, if you are looking for a really humorous book, you want this one. I thought that this book was a really excellent book. It gives women a laugh and men an education on the issues in our lives they will never understand so they might as well not even try to. This book is a decent book for girl's night out or even just being with your girlfriend's parties. Even just family get gatherings will be better. It will make everyone have a wonderful time. Even if one of your girlfriends has the blues read her a few of the items in this book, and she will begin to cheer up.

I'm a 40 year old guy, and I DIDN'T GET THEM-any of them. I ended up reading the whole thing over several days as my girlfriend made it available as she was changing her outfit (again) before we went to dinner. I found out that this is okay, according to #87 in the book. Page after page, I kept waiting for something to hit home. However, this is not to say it wasn't entertaining. Don't feel like I know women any better, but I'm glad I read this insight into the feminine mystique. I'd have no hesitation in giving it as a gift to any woman who wants a laugh and a smile.

How Lorraine Bodger came up with all these "things" is beyond me. She is absolutely right on all of them. Every page brings a smile. I bought a book for my best friend, read it, then ordered one for my 20 year-old-daughter. What she doesn't know now, she'll learn, and appreciate later. This book is definitely worthy of being a hardback...a great keepsake.
