You'll laugh...you'll cry and it will scare you to death!

Not only is this a must-have book for any child contemplating the big move, but every adult who has made it to the stage of having a child who is ready to leave should read it. You will pat yourself on the back and wonder how you survived. I laughed as Salditt reminds us of the importance of toilet paper and how NOT having toilet paper is a very bad thing! I'm not sure if I cried because of memories of some horrible roommates, or at the thought of my "baby" out on his own. The illustrations are charming and this little gem of a book is filled with terrific checklists for you and the young adult that is making the big move. I can't wait to see what Salditt tackles next.

"Nailed it!!!"

OK, so it's not Moby Dick. And there's not any Rhymin' Simon - slip out the back, Jack stuff, either. But those things have already been done anyway. Come take a ride on the love train as Motha' Salditt uses a clever diatribe sprinkled with tidbits of comedy, real life traumatic decisions and nostalgia. Don't be surprised if this becomes a sitcom on the WB network.

Wish I had this book 25 years ago!

Great tips and tricks on how to do it without causing *bad vibes* to you.

Imparting Wisdom Humorously

For every parent that desperately tries to convey wisdom, knowledge, and practicality to their children... for anyone who knows kids to whom they'd like to impart the same... for anyone who knows someone who has kids who are trying likewise... THIS is a book to consider! When that time arrives for the kids to move out, and one wonders if the life lessons to date have had ANY impression whatsoever, this is one last chance to slip a "pearl of wisdom" into the pockets of those kids! Because the book is written humorously, the likelihood that it'll get read BY the kids is increased! Then, once read, the knowledge gets discretely conveyed! No one book could likely convey EVERYONE'S ideal truths, but Salditt has a gift for capturing what appears to be street-smart truths that we might "know" but have not necessarily "spoken". This book lends itself as a gift for multiple occasions when you want to give something of significance, but don't know "what" to give without being too "deep" or "philosophical"! ... Salditt targets the needs of a large population: the collective of baby-boomer parents and their "ready-to-leave-the-nest" children. This book is delightful in many ways! You may surprise YOURSELF as you giggle your OWN way through the pages and realize how much YOU know about living life!!!

Great Fun and Advice

What a clever book with lots of good advice to young apartment hunters or those finally leaving the nest. Great gift for a young adult and a pleasure to read for all. Brings back so many memories of starting out and working through tough situations, with a humorous slant. Might as well make the best of these times! Makes you wonder how you ever did it - and relieved that those days are behind you. Read the book!
