I found this book in the Dr.'s office when I escorted a family member to a colonoscopy exam. It came highly recommended by the group that operated the center. I read it in the two hour wait for the procedure to complete. This book will explain how our food supply was altered by the move from family farms to giant farms in the 20th century. It explains how all these diseases that we see around us now that were not present in the 40's and 50's came to be. The cause of most of our health problems in this nation is due to the complete lack of Omega 3 oils in our diet. The grass fed beef, chicken and swine of the last century contained Omega 3 oil from the grass the animals fed on. Now they feed on corn and our diet is flooded with Omega 6 corn oil. We need both, but the Omega 3 is completely missing now. We need to restore the balance. This can easily be done with Omega 3 products such as flax seed oil. The book warns of the need to avoid Trans fat. Trans fat will change your good cholesterol into bad cholesterol...it will kill you. Hint...the FDA is not helping us. The FDA has permitted the food industry to call one half gram of Trans fat per serving as ZERO Trans fat. They reduce the serving size and Trans fat is now hidden.
