How interesting should a book on golf be anyway? I didn't think very much, but I was wrong. Offering a condensed history of golf through the 20th century, this book does a good job of keeping the topics interesting and brief enough to make reading 600 pages of information go very easy. The book devotes a few pages to each year and provides a one page overview of that year. Other events are in one or two paragraphs. Pictures from the early days to modern day are sometimes the most interesting part.My only complaint is that there is not enough pictures in the early 1900s, a time that most of us have little experience or knowledge of.
