A young man recalls his Appalachian roots as part of the reason why he has no choice but to follow the yearnings of his soul as dictated by the blood line of his ancestry. His adventures as a kid while on vacation with his family, helped crystalize in him, a mystical vision of happiness which inspires him to go on a quest through the counter-culture world of the late 1960s and the early 70s, chasing his dream all over the country, where ever his 'thumb would take him. He gets side tracked more than once along the way, because of his involvement with psychedelic drugs and so has to deal with catastrophic consequences alone, far from home. It is a true story of a somewhat rebellious 17 year old from Kentucky who rejects his churches [Catholic] teachings and goes out to discover America on his own terms during a politically tumultuous time in it's rich history. A young man who worships nature and the controversial psychedelic music scene of the day and so pursues relentlessly his vision of "The Dream."
