11/22/63 --What if...?

On this date in 1963, President John. F. Kennedy was assassinated by a sniper's bullet in Dallas, Tx. After that, the world changed. King revisits that time and asks, "What if the assassin had been stopped?. What if the President did not die? What then..? I think this is the best book Stephen King ever wrote. The hero is someone who can go back in time--but only to a certain year. He has to wait several years before 1963 rolls around. He also finds he love of his life there. Each 'reset' changes the world's history and looks at what may 'become.' His final decision is gut-wrenching, Read this.

Unexpected

Was disappointed to receive without dust jacket. I wasn't aware it was missing.

Best book you will ever read

This book is the best book i have ever read. It will pull you in and really make you think! Get a copy or two like i did and be prepared to only be thinking about this book

Page Turner!

King tackles one of the most thought about questions, "What if?" We always wonder what would happen if we could go back in time and change a moment in history. While this book is not scary in the King sense, it is a good read for those who don't usually enjoy his genre, and it will leave you wanting more!

"Life can change on a dime......"

I have never read Stephen King. I simply have not been a fan of "horror" stories. Having said that; however, 11/22/63 kept me up all night. A fascinating story! From the very first page, I felt as if I were right there in Al's Diner. I am intrigued by the Kennedys and read anything I can get my hands on about them. King's story had me asking myself "did that happen?". I so wanted Jake and Sadie to have a life together. It didn't happen and when Jake saw her later in life, I was not certain if she recognized him. King did an amazing job with this story. I just couldn't get enough of it. I hope that he will write more like this in the future. Amazing story!

A book that makes you think

I loved how thought through and detailed this book was. It has so many different storylines and things going on that made you think to try and follow it.

Time travel done differently.

I picked up this book last week due to a few people recommending it to me, saying that it was one of those books you just couldn't seem to put down. I put it off for a while (it came out while I was still in high school), but finally gave it a try. It definitely lived up to the hype. From page 1, I was gripped in the interesting take on time travel, and I finished this monster in just over a week. I was initially put off by the main idea of the story being the Kennedy assassination, but the way in which the book is written makes it feel like a very natural part of the story, not a cliche like it usually is. You get very emotionally invested in the characters, and you're gripped for almost the entirety of the book. I cannot recommend this enough. Even if you're not a Stephen King aficionado, this break from his routine horror/fantasy provides a refreshing, investing journey that transcends genre, tells an intensely emotional story, and leaves you satisfied, yet wanting more.

It's been quite a week for Stephen King with the releases of both It Chapter 2, the movie and his new novel, The Institute. But then again, with about 80 books and dozens of hit movies to his name, maybe it's just like any other workweek. In any case, we're superfans and wanted to showcase a few of our top picks from the versatile author. (Psst, it's not all horror)
