I HIGHLY recommend this book!!

This book on preparing is at the top of my list. Because the author has put it all in simple, everyday language, I can prepare without the feeling of being "overwhelmed" by it all. I really appreciate the practical and sensible suggestions on water, money, location, and more! I refer to it often. I advise all interested in preparing for their family and community to read this book!!! It actually helped to calm many of the fears that I had; now, instead of being in a "panic", I continue to prepare a little each day or so. Thanks for having this "tool" available for us!

A real eye-opener

This book really opened my eyes. I've been focusing on making sure my clients are Y2K compliant and communicating this to the public, but I never really sat down and thought about how I should be ready personally. I thought the most I'd have to worry about is whether some of my software programs won't work Jan. 1. And if that happened, well, I'd have a couple of days over the holidays to do what I needed before business resumes. It never even dawned on me that there might be a potentially serious threat to me and my family. I thought if there was, surly someone would have said something by now. It was only after reading Steve's book that I realized the potential impact. I've started preparing myself and my family and encourage others to do the same.

Up to date, knowledgeable, informative presentation.

This author's credentials are in order, his presentation is easy to understand. He touches on subjects that were beyond my awareness. Packed with information in a small size that makes it an handy reference.

Best I've read on Y2K preparation...

The author's credentials alone might sell you on this book. Pick one up and read the back cover, then scan the introduction. I think you will be persuaded to buy this very readable and well organized paperback. It is packed with specific, practical information about the nature of the y2k threat and what you and I can do to help prepare and protect ourselves and our families. Topics addressed include how to plan without becoming overwhelmed, how to inventory what you have and determine what you will need, how to properly store food and water, what medical supplies to have on hand, emergency communications and even how to get along without flush toilets. The "Check It Out...Yourself" sections list additional resources on the web and lists of addresses and phone numbers for suppliers are also provided. In other words, a lot of homework has been done for our benefit and put into a useful format. Don't miss this resource!

A good place to start.

This is one of the most practical, helpful, and concise books on dealing with Y2K related issues I have seen. It is an excellent place to start for any person or family seeking information on how to "prepare for the worst, and hope for the best." Highly recommended.
