The fable is one of the most beloved and easily recognisable types of literature. It is a story stripped to its bare minimum, written not only to amuse, but inform us of the consequences of certain types of behaviour. The fable also has a rich history, and, long before the advent of writing, was passed down orally from generation to generation in nearly every single country in the world. Needless to say, the best-known of these short stories have been ascribed to Aesop, and are at least two-thousand years old.

But sadly, the fable is now deemed at best old-fashioned, and at worst archaic, and is on the verge of becoming a forgotten art form.
