For those at 9-8-9 / the best advice for closing the final gap to success

This is a great methodology for those who earning more than their parents but still a splint from your goal, or for those who are on the mark 90% of the time while 100% is the minimum. Bottom line is the hard work and determination you have now and wouldn't have believed you could muster if you were asked 10 years ago...was good enough for now, but the next milestone, thoes final steps to the summit are accomplished by working smarter, quicker and using your experiences to OBJECTIVELY realize your successes AND MORE IMPORTANTLY, learning from the failures. From this retrospection, you may have some stark realizations, even feel like years were wasted for various goals but 10x3 teaches us it isn't too late to accept failures as guidelines for the next success. Ignoring those failures, repeating them and doing so for the next 10 years is a tradegy and Suzy Welch makes it clear. Some have dismissed this guide as nepotistic bunk but hardly the case, Jack Welch is mentioned in context for his contributions and as a successful CEO.... more often he's portrayed more like Mr. Suzy Welch but he doesn't mind since his lifes successes are the result of team and contribution at home and work.

Best Book for sorting out priorities!

If you are having difficulties setting priorities when making big and little decisions in your life ... read this book! Sometimes in the moment we forget how little impact a decision can have later on ...

Simple but powerful principle for decision making

I really enjoyed Suzy's book, her writing is enjoyable and to the point. She really holds nothing back and shares with her readers generously from her own life journey. The 10-10-10 process consists of making decisions by thinking through the results of those decisions in three time frames, 10 minutes, 10 months, and 10 years. This represents understanding the implications of what you do in the short term, mid-term, and long term time horizons. This could save readers lots of trouble and heart ache by carefully following this process with your priorities and values as filters and guides. While this is common sense most of us abandon common sense in the heat of ego, emotions, and family drama. After reading this book you will come away with a structured way to make decisions that is much better than simply writing goals or writing down pros and cons. You will project out how your life is like in three time frames if you decide to take a certain path. I have read hundreds of self improvement books and I love this one for its simplicity and powerful message. It even showed me I am to long term focused, making decisions using the ten year perspective to much and neglecting the present. You will not regret buying this book and following its recommendations. It truly is a life-transforming idea.

"10-10-10" is a winning formula for any decision

It's been a long time since I've read a self-help book and even a longer time since I read one that I liked. But I loved Suzy Welch's "10-10-10." Before I even finished the book, I started putting my own decisions through the calculation. It's a terrific, simple idea that can be applied to even the most complicated problems. And the book is written in such an accessible, engaging style - filled with personal anecdotes - that it would be difficult not to start running daily decisions through the formula. I don't think I could have gotten through a busy holiday week without using "10-10-10" to help sort out the constant conflicts between personal and professional commitments.

Living by 10s

A couple of days ago I received my copy, hot off the presses, of "10-10-10, 10 Minutes, 10 Months, 10 Years, A Life-Transforming Idea" and I encourage you to run out and purchase the book to learn how to apply the tool in your life and read the inspiring stories of how others have used it to live with greater satisfaction and authenticity. We all find ourselves at times immobilized in a decision process, uncertain about which way to proceed. The questions may run from the easy: Should I hit the snooze button or get up and head to the gym? Eat the piece of chocolate cake or go for the yogurt parfait? Stop at the grocery store today or tomorrow? To the more challenging: Should I accept the job offered across the country? Should I start a family now? Do I stay in this relationship? 10-10-10 refers to a way of considering the consequences of a decision and projecting the outcome into the near and distant future. Such consideration provides one with an opportunity for perspective and, quite possibly, transformation. 10-10-10 is an easy to remember (and apply) life management tool that will help propel you out of murky indecision, toward clarity, personal fulfillment and living your life with authenticity. I have used this process in both my personal and professional life. It has helped me in decision making as well as in communication with others. I have taught my clients the process in the course of helping them in their decision-making as well as in improving communicating with their coworkers and loved ones. This book joins other important books in my office which I suggest to my clients to offer up a new approach to a problem.
