I purchased the book for my grandson who is just a little over a year old. He loves books, but still needs something that he won't tear. The board books serve well. The bright colors and simplistic photographic images keep his interest and teach basic concepts like colors, shapes and counting configurations. Simle as they come, this counting book for toddlers is full of vibrant images that also challenge the senses -- 4 luscious slices of oranges, 2 bright red tennis shoes, 6 brown eggs in a carton, 7 yummy animal crackers ...This book is as simple as they come. But coming from the parent of a curious 2-year-old, I can tell you that the simplicity is what makes this book so cherished.
