"After the disappearance of her scientist father, three peculiar beings send Meg, her brother, and her friend to space in order to find him."
The 1962 fantasy novel, A Wrinkle in Time, is being made into a movie. Perhaps you heard about it? The first trailer was released on the weekend and it exploded the internet. And we can see why. It's stunning.
A Wrinkle in Time is the first in the Time Quintet series by Madeleine L'Engle. The story follows Meg Murry, a 13-year old who's struggling to accept the disappearance of her scientist father. Meg, her younger brother Charles Wallace, and friend, Calvin O'Keefe embark on a mission to find and save her father. All assisted by supernatural beings Mrs. Whatsit, Mrs. Who, and Mrs. Which.
Disney first adapted A Wrinkle in Time for the screen in 2003, with limited success. We're glad they went back to the drawing board because this adaptation has us bouncing in our seats in anticipation. They have pulled in director, Ava DuVernay (who directed Selma), and a star-studded cast: Oprah Winfrey as Mrs. Which, Reese Witherspoon as Mrs. Whatsis, and Mindy Kaling as Mrs. Who. Watch the trailer and let us know your thoughts. Too modern? Too Disney? Perfectly perfect?
