Beyond the One Piece

More manga for fans of One Piece on Netflix

By Ashly Moore Sheldon • October 17, 2023

One Piece is a hit Netflix series based on the manga series of the same name by Eiichiro Oda, who served as a major creative consultant on the show. The live-action adaptation has been well received by both critics and fans who praised the performances, writing, and visual effects.

The series follows the adventures of the Straw Hat Pirates as they explore dangerous frontiers in pursuit of the fabled One Piece, a treasure that will make their captain, Monkey D. Luffy, the King of the Pirates. But they aren't the only ones looking for the treasure. And there are forces trying to thwart them at every turn. For fans who are already eagerly awaiting season two, we've got some reading recommendations.

Read the books

There are already more than 100 volumes in the long-running One Piece series, but these are broken down into different eras of the story. Volume 90 marks the start of the Wano Country Saga and would be a good jumping in place. The Final Arc, starting with volume 105 has not yet been released in the US.

You could also sample the series with one of these premium boxed sets. These would also make great gifts for diehard fans.
