Book against book, friend against friend. Welcome to the third annual ThriftBooks Novel Knockout! This year’s theme: Generation Domination. 64 titles that encapsulate the last four generations went head-to-head in social media until the ultimate novel, and ultimate generation, was decided by our readers. Check out the journey in the bracket!
And the winner is...
1..
Millennials: Harry Potter
regular / USED - Acceptable
The readers have spoken, it’s the second win for Harry Potter! Fighting and dominating through 5 rounds, against books like A Series of Unfortunate Events and The Hunger Games, has brought this book series to the top spot, for its second time!
2..
Baby Boomers: Lord of the Rings
regular / USED - Acceptable
Coming in second place is J. R. R. Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings, representing the Baby Boomers! The Boomers voted hard, and gave quite the fight in the last round, just barely missing out on the championship.
Tied for Third: Jurassic Park and The Hunger Games
The Gen X and Gen Z champions were the other half of our Final Four and deserve all the love they got this competition. Hunger Games barely broke a sweat until it faced off against our Champion. Jurassic Park won in a face off against Stephen King, proving it deserved its top spot.
Jurassic Park

The Hunger Games

And below are the other 60 titles that competed in this year's tournament. They may not have won, but they played the game and we can respect that enough to add them to our “To-be-read” piles.
