I’ve been in executive leadership roles with media and technology companies dating back to the floppy disk dinosaurs, with long stays in senior management at Broderbund Software, The Walt Disney Company, and SHOP.COM. I love the intersection of business, creativity, and innovative ideas, which makes ThriftBooks a perfect place for me to collaborate with our gifted team. My wife is a teacher who believes "our books are our treasures." Helping deliver those treasures affordably into the hands of readers is as rewarding a way to spend my days as I can imagine.

I don’t just help sell books, I write them! I am the author of three novels about the business world: This Is Rage (2013), Endless Encores (2015), and From Nothing (2018). When I’m not working or writing, I’m probably cheering on the LA Dodgers, immersed in the music of The Beatles, reading about philosophy, or volunteering time for social justice programs that support children and families in our communities.
